Evelyn runs a sex doll brothel in Dortmund, Germany and for this research interview she told me about her business. There are 15 dolls in total. Most clients are shy, middle-aged men. They’ve built up relationships to specific dolls, to whom they regularly return to. But curious individuals and couples also show up.
Aggressive behaviour towards the dolls is nothing uncommon. “Better in here than out there in the real world”, Evelyn says.
